Estimate rendered barcode width and height from module width, bar count and target magnification so you can plan a label before printing. Validation happens before a barcode or converted value is treated as usable, so a visually plausible symbol does not hide a bad identifier.
What a valid result does not prove
A valid syntax or check digit does not prove that a number was licensed to your organization, assigned to the correct product, accepted by a specific retailer or printed at an acceptable physical size.
Protect the original identifier
Do not change digits simply to make a validator pass. If a standardized product identifier is wrong, trace it back to the product master or issuing process. Check-digit tools are for verifying composition, not creating ownership.
Production verification
After generating a barcode, test the final production artwork with the scanners and trading-partner process that will actually use it. Screen previews cannot reproduce every print, substrate, contrast or packaging condition.

Save the original input beside the result and record where the value will be used next—product master, label artwork, marketplace import, warehouse process or replenishment policy. If the destination system transforms leading zeros, units, dates or separators, correct that hand-off before processing the full catalog.
